Ten years ago, we opened Mizunara: The Library in Hong Kong to showcase the extraordinary hospitality and culture of Japan. The name 'MIZUNARA' was chosen in honor of the unique Mizunara oak, which imparts a distinctive character to Japanese whiskey. Our journey began with a mission to introduce this unique aspect of Japanese heritage to the world.
Mizunara: The Library in Hong Kong was ranked 66th in the Asia's 50 Best Bars extended 51-100 list in 2024, 86th in 2023 and 71st in 2022.
Our bar was born out of a deep appreciation for Japanese culture and a desire to share its essence with the world. Inspired by the charm of Kagurazaka, often referred to as Tokyo’s ‘Little Paris,’ we wanted to create a space where the elegance and tranquility of Japan could be experienced in every sip and every moment.
At the heart of our bar is a commitment to providing a serene afternoon drinking experience. We believe in creating a peaceful and luxurious environment where guests can unwind and enjoy the finer things in life. Our focus on quality and elegance is evident in every detail, from our carefully curated drink menu to the tranquil ambience of our bar.
Over the past decade, we have expanded our vision with Mizunara: The Shop in Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore, promoting Japanese distilled spirits such as shochu and awamori including the Award Winning The Hachi Shochu. We also established Mizunara: The Academy to elevate customer service and industry knowledge. Now, returning to Japan, we bring with us the insights and experiences we've gathered from our global journey.
We strive to enhance the value of social interactions through the timeless art of Japanese hospitality. Our dedication to this philosophy ensures that every visit to our bar is not just a moment of relaxation but a memorable experience that resonates with the spirit of Japan. Ichigo Ichie .
