A Guided Journey Through Taste and Tradition
Embark on an intimate tasting experience that unveils the origins, ingredients, and artistry behind every pour. This is more than a tasting — it is a sensory voyage into the soul of Japan, where each sip reflects centuries of refinement and the harmony between nature and the human spirit. Our experienced Team will share the history, the background and production methods of this incredible spirit as you go through the experience.

The MIZUNARA Shochu Discovery Experience includes:
1. A 10ml sweet potato Honkaku Shochu served in 3 different traditional ways. Taste the difference in serving styles and how it can make a difference in flavours
2. 4 x 10ml tasting of premium cask aged shochu (Rice, Sweet Potato, Barley, Brown Sugar)
3. 1 x 10ml tasting of an aged Shochu based Umeshu
4. A Shochu Highball
5. A Shochu Cocktail from our Menu
6. Small bites/canapes

This is a curated tasting journey from classic Honkaku shochu to innovative, cask‑matured expressions and an exploration of shochu’s versatility through both traditional and contemporary serves: savour the gentle warmth of Oyu‑wari (mixed with hot water), the smooth balance of Mizuwari (with cold water), or the pure clarity of Rokku (on the rocks). Discover modern interpretations such as Chuhai and Soda‑wari — a refreshing, highball-style creation. Enjoy a guided appreciation of Japan’s terroir — experience how each local ingredient, from sweet potato (Imo) and barley (Mugi) to rice (Kome) and brown sugar (Kokuto), reveals its distinctive character.
